Own this beautiful, 8 day traditional Cuckoo clock cottage hand crafted in the Black Forest of Germany. This cuckoo clock features a man chopping a log in front of his cottage surrounded by two fawn feeding and a cuckoo bird perched on a log. These cuckoo clocks can be handed down from generation to generation and are an incredible works of art with long lasting value. At the top of each hour the hand carved, cuckoo bird cuckoos the hour as the wood chopper chops wood. Two cast iron pine cone weights are suspended beneath the clock case by two separate brass chains. The eight-day brass mechanical Regula movement is wound once per eight days by pulling the chains which raises the two pine cone weights. One weight powers the time and the other weight powers the cuckoo, cuckoo call and wood chopper. A manual night shut off switch allows you to mute the cuckoo sound and stop the wood chopper.
